June 2007 - Nashville….and back
Wednesday, June 6th, 2007Hi all, Thought it was time for a new update. May was a crazy month for me. I left Nashville to come back home for just two weeks for a few commitments. First stop was Whitton, near Griffith, to help raise money for a much needed Tennis and Basketball Court for the town. It was a ‘Spicks And Specks’ themed night and a lot of fun. From Nashville to Whitton…lol… that’s just how my life is at the moment, and just the way I like it! Next was the filming day for the video clip for my new single ‘Stronger’, the third single released from my latest album. I managed to scrub up ok after the late nights and long flights and I’m really happy with the way the video looks. It will start airing on CMC this week. I then flew off to Tasmania for my shows in Hobart and Launceston. It was great being back on stage again with my incredible band. We had really good crowds and I even convinced my mum to get up a sing a couple of songs with me and she knocked them dead with her ‘William Tell Overture’ yodel, of course. On June 1st it was time to hop on yet another plane to chaperone 35 country music fans on the Elite Special Event ‘Fanfair’ Tour. I met them at Sydney airport and we flew to LA where we spent the day in Disneyland, flew to Memphis, checked out Sun Studios, the STAX Museum and the legendary Graceland. It has been so much fun showing these folks around and we’re all having a ball. Tomorrow we head to Nashville for Country Music week where they will see some of their favourite artists such as Alan Jackson, Reba and Kenney Chesney. I’ll be doing some shows in the next couple of weeks too and in July I’ll be performing at the famous Bluebird Café. I can’t wait, just as I can’t wait to perform back at the Toyota Gympie Music Muster on the 25th August. Gonna give you a sneak preview of a couple of my new songs there too! Stay safe and happy and hope to see you at Gympie, Melinda xx
