June 2007 - Nashville….and back

Hey Y’all,
Over here in Nashville working hard and having fun!
Had a great time during the songwriter’s festival, Tin Pan South where I was invited to perform in the round with some of my favourite songwriters, Gordon Kennedy, Wayne Kirkpatrick and Phil Madeira. They called our show ‘3 In The Round and 1 Outback’. Too cute! We had a great night, performing about 10 songs each and singing harmonies and playing on each other’s songs.
I have another ‘In The Round’ gig at a place called ‘Swallow At The Hollow’ in Atlanta, Georgia on April 27th and I can’t wait. It’s gonna be another big year of travel, think I’m turning into a gypsy!
I come home in May just in time to do my two shows in Tassie at The Country Club, Launceston and Wrest Point Casino, Hobart. I’ll be filming the video clip for my new single, Stronger, and spending some quality time with my family and friends before heading off on the 1st June to play host on The Ultimate Country Music Tour for Elite Special Event Tours to Fanfair 2007.
We start in LA, go to Disneyland, Graceland, Memphis, the famous Sun Studio and Stax Museum, then on to Nashville where we will be able to catch the biggest names in country live at the Grand Ole Opry and the Coliseum and after a long day relax back in the comfort of your suite at the Opryland Hotel.
Check out the website for more details or to book for next year! www.eliteset.com.au
That’s enough exciting news for now….my head is spinning.
Stay safe, strong and happy.
Love,

Hi everyone,
March already…can’t believe it. This year is just gonna fly, I can feel it!
Tamworth was the best one yet….two incredible gigs performing to over 2000 people.
Thanks to all of you for coming to my shows up there…I enjoyed them so much and I hope you did too.
I’ve been on the road to Western NSW and heading down south at the end of March before I fly off to Nashville again. I’ll be over there writing songs for my new record and I’m really looking forward to getting into ‘creative’ mode again. I’ll be back just in time for my Tasmania tour in May. I’m finally taking my own show to Tassie and just can’t wait.
Oh, a little bit of trivia for you, I’m singing in Canberra this Saturday night 3rd March at the Brumbies game.
Should be a hoot! It all came about because of me having two guys appearing in my ‘Big World Small World’ video clip, in the back of the cab wearing Brumbies jerseys. The powers that be got in touch with me and invited me to sing at the game. They will be playing the video clip behind me on the big screen, so it should be a lot of fun.
Hope to see you at one of my shows somewhere down the track.
Stay safe and happy,
Melinda xxx
Hi everyone,
I hope you have all been enjoying my new website.
Thanks for all your great feedback, I have really enjoyed receiving your messages and will do my best to answer them when I can.
My trip to the Dam Country Festival in France was incredible, with way too much wine and cheese being consumed by all…… we’re not here for a long time right???!!!
The French cowboys were a hoot, complete with fringed suede jackets and cowboy hats.
It felt like I was an extra in an old John Wayne movie. Lol.
I’m back on the road now, on the way down to Victoria before heading back to Nashville in November for another song writing trip. Gotta keep the songs coming right?
I’m sure I’m gonna collapse in December at this rate, but a few weeks off over Chrissy will do the trick to get me back into form for Tamworth in January. Can’t wait!
Hope to see you at my show at The Toyota Country Theatre at TREC on January 20th 2007.
Love,
Melinda xxx
It’s great to finally have a new site for you to be able to visit, leave feedback, get song lyrics, check out photos and hear about all my latest music and news.
I’m pretty pumped today, with the launch of my new album STRONGER happening in Sydney tonight.
When I arrived in Nashville on 22nd February 2005, I didn’t think that by February the following year I would have penned 60 songs for this album.
It has been an amazingly prolific journey through some of the most challenging, yet inspiring times of my life and I hope when you hear them, these songs help you to feel and heal as much as they have me.
I am so fortunate to be able to share my music, so please, laugh if you wanna laugh and cry if you wanna cry, but most importantly…..sing along!
All my love,
Melinda x
